WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT THEN???
This site is devoted to a single Half-Life deathmatch map...The Killbox.
Now you may think, "huh, WTF?" didn't Radium review this map and give it a "2" or something???

Yes this is true, the Radium review did give it a 2 and said (I quote) "This map is a boring, horrible layout and presents no sort of playable theme or gameplay."
Yep, that pretty much says it all. The level is nothing much to look at, the weapons are scattered so randomly it's scary and if you don't have a good connection or fast computer lag can kill you. But none-the-less you can find this map on a number of server rotations and almost any time of day a server ot two that runs nothing but the Killbox.

So if it sucks how come so many people use it???

Well, maybe because it offers what so many people want: pure unadulterated killing fun.
What other map can you see all the other players at once? What other map has the potential for great low gravity fights? What other map allows you to rack up a hundred frags in a half hour? Only the Killbox!

HOW IT ALL BEGAN
It started some time ago when I was playing Half-Life online and the server rotated to the Killbox. I didn't have the map and so it tried to download it. This caused Half-Life to crash (bleah). Not to be daunted I went to Radium to see if they had the map (cause they got tons of em!) and what do you know they had it and it was reviewed. Well I downloaded it and read the review. A "2"? Damn I thought, oh well at least I'll give it a try. And that was when I was converted to the dark side of the force. Uh..no wait..I mean that when I found my new favorite map.

At the time it wasn't in the heavy rotation it is now and so I mostly just caught it on map rotations, a great server called Prat's Potatoes and when I played with friends. Then it seemed to show up more and more and I played it more and more, specifically searching it out when looking for an online game.

Well, jumping to the present I find my self playing it more than any other map (even my pals are hooked). I love the Killbox. Many thanks to Ooblik for making this map!

WHO'S INVOLVED?
Here at Come.To/TheKillbox there are four of us currently, Kill_Me_For_Prizes (which is myself), Defenseless_Guy (formerly The_Oufker), Smoke and Hivemind. More info about us will be comming soon (our favorite weapons, skins, tactics, rigs ect.)

WHAT WE GOT HERE...
Take a look at the menu at the top to see what we have and are going to have here at Come.To/TheKillbox. Tactics for the Killbox, stuff about us (the Killbox Clan???), when we'll be running Killbox servers, screenshots and whatever else. There will be updates with random stuff several times a week.

KILLBOX SERVERS

THE OFFICIAL Come.To/TheKillbox SERVER
We will be running a 6 man Killbox server Friday nights starting at around 9-10pm (west coast time).
The server will be running under the name "Come.To/TheKillbox " (big surpise there)
Just use the Half-Life server finder or GameSpy to find us.

HAZZARD'S KILLBOX
This server is run by none other than the unfamous Jimmy Hazzard!
He will be running a 5 man Killbox server most Sunday nights between 10 and 12pm (west coast time).
His server will be running under the name "Hazzard's_Killbox"
Just use the Half-Life server finder or GameSpy to find him.

Kill_Me_For_Prizes
His Rig: AMD K6-2 350 with 96MB Ram and a VooDoo3 3000 (and a bleah soundcard).
Internet Connection: Cable baby! (ah, the benifits of being a Canadian).
Favorite Weapon: Gotta be either the Mp5 (with contact grenades) or the Rocket Launcher (but I'll use anything!).
Favorite Skin/Model: I'm currently using the ASWAT model (it rocks! get it here from Cold Fusion)

<<<This was a good game. The map changed at 50 kills so what was why the count was so low (I usually play to 200). The guy in second place kep jumping to the middle of the floor and shooting rockets on a big circle around the map and then got pissed when peple killed him...uh duh?? Isn't that the point of the game? It's not called Rocket-Stunts!

<<<Woohoo a four way tie for second place! I had the best frag-to-deaths ratio (does that really matter?) but I didn't have time to get into first before the map changed. And About Lister-of-Smeg? 0 kills and 31 deaths? I saw him moving around but no kills? Weird.

<<<Ah, a rousing game of Killbox.This was a game I hosted the other night. There were more people in it earlier and this was just before I shut it down (hand had fallen asleep!).
